The aim of this facility is to provide an interactive medium where practicing Road Safety Auditors can share information and experience of safety concerns identified whilst carrying out Road Safety Audits. The site comprises
To use the facility, go to the Standard Query form and select the type of scheme to be audited. Then either select the appropriate stage of Road Safety Audit, which will produce a customised checklist, or select typical collision type which will provide any information that exists for that scheme type. The checklists are based on actual comments made by auditors in over 6000 audit reports over a 20 year period. As a result, please note, that they are not exhaustive and Road Safety Auditors will need to fully consider the safety aspects of the scheme being audited and include any other concerns in their Safety Audit Report.
Road Safety Auditors are encouraged to suggest additions/amendments to the existing checklists or add new checklists for innovative schemes, as well as suggesting other typical collision types for existing or new scheme types. In addition, we would welcome links to any other web sites, either as a reference for any of the checklist comments or for the useful links section, as an additional aid to other auditors. All feedback will be professionally assessed before being added to the site.
